Music
Music plays a vital role in developing creativity, confidence, and early communication skills. Using Charanga as a structured scheme, our children are introduced to music through a range of engaging activities including exploring instruments, learning and singing songs, performing together in assemblies, Choir and out of school events, and by beginning to compose their own simple pieces. Pupils have opportunities to experiment with rhythm and sound using percussion instruments, helping them understand basic musical concepts in a hands-on way. Singing is a central part of lessons, supporting language development and memory, while group performances build confidence and a sense of teamwork. Through Charanga, children also begin to create their own music, making choices about sounds and patterns, which encourages imagination and self-expression.
