British Values

At our school we are committed to promoting the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. These values help pupils develop into responsible, respectful and active members of society.

Our school values, known as the Four Bees, support this work and guide the way we learn and behave every day. Children are encouraged to be kind, respectful, responsible and safe in all that they do. These values help to create a positive and caring school community where everyone feels valued.

British Values are embedded throughout our curriculum and daily school life. We promote these values through assemblies, classroom discussions and the wider experiences we provide for pupils.

Pupils regularly learn about local, national and global news, helping them to develop an awareness of the world around them and encouraging thoughtful discussion about fairness, responsibility and respect. We also provide opportunities for pupils to support others by raising money for charities and taking part in community events.

We work closely with a range of outside organisations to enrich pupils’ understanding of their role within the wider community. In addition, our Caring School Committee plays an important role in school life. Members of the committee help to share ideas, lead initiatives that improve the school, and look for ways to support the local community.

Through these experiences, pupils learn the importance of listening to others, respecting different viewpoints, and understanding how they can make a positive contribution to society.
