Children at FACES are served a healthy snack when they arrive; this is to tide them over until they get home for a main meal.

We stick to the Government Change 4 Life guidelines of “look for the 100 calorie snacks”

We are careful to cater to your child’s dietary needs and preferences. Please let us know your needs on the registration form.

Children can choose from a buffet style selection of

  • A wide variety of fruit and vegetables- we try to encourage the children to have at least 3 or 4 different types.
  • A fromage frais or a small carton of milk
  • One plain biscuit or half a scone or pancake
  • Cream crackers or rice cakes
  • A sandwich  or wrap with a choice of Flora/ dairy free spread and
    • Ham
    • Salami
    • Chicken
    • Marmite
    • Grated cheese
    • Dairylea
    • Cream cheese
    • Hummus
    • Tuna and sweetcorn.


Water is available at all times.

Occasionally we have a special cooking activity treat, children do not eat what they make during the session, but are made to wait until their parent or carer has given them permission to do so.
