Spring 2 - Build a Bridge

This half term our learning journey is called

Build a Bridge

Here is some of what we will be learning 



In English ...

WALT explore and discuss a range of poetry.

WALT create a list poem.

WALT undertake research and discuss information

WALT assemble and categorise information to create a report                 

WALT re-tell familiar stories.

WALT plan and write own stories with a logical sequence of events.

WALT write descriptions of characters and settings


In Maths...

WALT identify and describe the properties of 3-D shapes.

WALT identify and describe the properties of 2-D shapes.

WALT compare and sort common 2-D and 3-D shapes and everyday objects.

WALT create patterns and sequences

WALT recognise, find, name and write fractions 1/3, ¼, 2/4 and ¾ of a length, shape, set of objects or a quantity.

WALT write simple fractions for example ½ of 6 = 3

WALT recognise the equivalence of 2/4 and ½


In Science...

WALT ask simple questions.

WALT perform simple tests using equipment.

WALT gather and record data to help in answering questions.

WALT explore how different materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching.

WALT identify and compare the uses of a variety of everyday materials including wood, metal, plastic,
glass, brick/rock and paper/cardboard. 



WALT describe some of the teachings and celebrations
at Easter.


In Computing...

WALT use technology purposefully to type texts and find images.


In Art ...

WALT describe the work of Leonid Afremov.

WALT use the ideas of Leonid Afremov to create own artwork.


In History...

WALT ask and answer questions about the past.

WALT use artefacts, pictures, stories, online sources and databases to find out about the past.

WALT describe significant people from the past

WALT place events and artefacts in order on a timeline.

WALT label time lines with words or phrases e.g. past, present, older and newer.
