Optimal Learning

We consider our school to be both a thinking and learning organisation for children and adults.

As a school we are committed to the application of Optimal Learning techniques to demonstrate our agreed and focused dedication to raise the profile and quality standards of our teaching and learning programme. We believe that we can influence the learning that takes place by focusing on a high quality climate for learning and personalising children’s experiences.

Optimal learning is a term for a series of practical approaches to learning, based upon knowledge about how the brain functions, motivation and self-belief, accessing different sorts of intelligence and retaining and recalling information. This approach will help pupils understand their own learning preferences, develop life long learning skills and enable pupils to learn how to learn. In addition Optimal learning offers teachers a toolkit of strategies to use which enable all children the best access to their learning.
